Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} x530 EKX/29.4.35. 20/25HP STEERING. The Experimental Dept. recommend:- (1) That "Castrol XL" oil should be used in the steering box instead of "Amber A" (2) That the loading of the Cross Steering Tube should be 2 lbs. plus, and minus 1 lb. checked with a 10" lever. There should be .005" to .015" clearance between the spring loaded contact piece and the steel bush. These recommendations are made with a view to making the steering lighter to handle and should be brought into effect immediately and should include all chassis now on test. [Signature] | ||
