Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}1/BA. 9th, January, 1940. Messrs. Park Ward & Co. 473, High Road, Willesden, LONDON.N.W.10. Dear Mr. Ward, Confirming our conversation of Monday regarding the luggage boot lid{A. J. Lidsey} of Ripplet. Will you please try fitting a light steel frame and lighter lock in an effort to reduce the weight. We should like to see this lid{A. J. Lidsey} weight down to 28 1/2 lbs. completely finished, this would compare with the Buick per sq.ft. With regard to 9.B.V. we understand Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} has already asked you to try reducing the lid{A. J. Lidsey} on this car, although this was not mentioned yesterday. We are despatching the Buick boot lid{A. J. Lidsey} to-day under separate cover for your inspection, will you please arrange to return this by our lorry when the Studebaker body is brought down. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
