Mr. Hives from Dodd,

We have followed out the usual instructions of 1 pump on the Bijur every morning cold, and a single pump every hundred miles.
In our case every time we pull up after a blind of speed we get the smell of burnt oil in the car. Oil in excess drips from the brake equalizer on to the silencer. Pivots also seem to receive an excess amount, this drips down the sides, and is whirled on to the brake drums.
The gear box has required ½ pt of oil in 4,200 miles. Steering box has not required any fresh oil.
Lately R has been on the subject of misfires at slow speeds. This came about when we were running with plug points at .025" per instructions to test coil.
We do not suffer with plugs set at .020" - but the very fact that we did get misfires has set R on the track.
The points of contact in our distributor are quite OK.
