SUBJECT

Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr. H.E.West.

With further reference to our letter of 6th inst., we are sending herewith Blue Print No.AU/16/6165 which shows the layout of a Delco-Remy Distributor fitted with Vacuum Ignition Control Device.

This drawing is to scale and will give you a very good idea as to whether it will fit on one of your engines, bearing in mind that the hand control can be made to suit your particular job if you will locate on this drawing the position you intend to connect up. Before carrying out this test, it is necessary for us to have the optimum ignition advance under full load, half load and quarter load conditions of your engine.

We will, of course, make up an automatic advance suitable for the full load conditions with hand control so that the Distributor will replace the type of semi-automatic advance which you may be using, but on top of this the Vacuum Control would take care of the half load and quarter load.

If you could let us have this information and particulars as to the length and diameter of shank of the Distributor, so that our job will fit in place of one of the Distributors you are using at the present time, we will put one of these in hand for you to enable you to carry out a test.

Yours faithfully,
B Quallin
Technical Manager.
