1020? c, Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/Ms. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}8/MH.{M. Huckerby} Experimental Dept. 30th. June 1938. Messrs.Vandervell Products Ltd., Western Avenue, Park Royal, LONDON, W.3. Dear Sirs, Further to our letter of the 28th. in reply to yours of the 27th. we note that the sample rocker and little end bushes to your drawings B.2204 and B.2203 have a different outside diameter to our normal bushes. This means that we shall have to produce special rocker arms which have been forged with excess material in the bore, to ream to the dimension of the bush shown on your drawing B.2204 as .7255 dia. We wonder why you have departed from our normal rocker arm bore of .750 dia. which is a fractional size and preferable to the odd size .7255 dia. you have quoted ? Could you alter the sample rocker bushes accordingly to fit into our normal rocker bore of .750 dia. ? Regarding the little end bushes, we note also that we shall have to ream our rod .875 to suit your proposed bush B.2203 in place of our normal .850 dia. we are, however, in agreement with this alteration as the reamer is of fractional size. In view of the above, therefore, we shall be pleased to receive samples of the little end bushes in accordance with your B.2203 and rocker bushes to B.2204 altered in wall thickness to suit fitting into a housing .750 dia. Further to our conversation with Mr.Vandervell on the 'phone the main bearings we have run are available for your inspection. | ||
