occur, and also the smell in the driving compartment.

(4) Brakes.

We have a complete modified system of brake leverages now available, which includes a modification to the value of one notch adjustment on the front, and a better ground clearance. We are also using AWR.2. brake lining. A test in France is required to see how much we have extended the periods between adjustment by these modifications. There is also Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}'s latest adjustment to the rear brakes which requires trying out.

(5) Exhaust System and Cut-out.

This is entirely new and completely different from that of the black car which incidentally gave trouble. It is essential we should get some high speed running on this in France.

(6) Petrol Pump.

We think it is essential that a car should be run in France with the R.R. petrol pump. We are continually hearing of mechanical petrol pumps giving trouble at high altitudes. The whole petrol system wants testing under summer conditions for vapour lock. We are also apprehensive that, under cold conditions, the starter motor will not turn the engine sufficiently fast to prime.

(7) Rear Axle.

We must get a test on the axle with the low gear ratio and the stronger differential.

(8) New Spring Driven Clutch Centre to the latest Lec.3418, RAD.13 lining, Thin back plate, with a lightened flywheel, all require running in France.

(9) Improved Rudge-Whitworth wheels awaiting test.

(10) The proper Bentley unit with altered crankcase, new pistons, slow speed dynamo, and altered starter motor housing, has never been ix run in France, and we are ordering 200 sets of material.
