W/N. To A.{Mr Adams} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. PN.{Mr Northey} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/AD18.11.31. CHASSIS GXO-105 PORTER. With reference to your A21/H16.11.31, Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} has agreed that we shall send you a set of these shock absorbers, to fit to any car that you has special trouble with regard to shock absorber knocks. Actually, the latest type of shock absorber cannot directly replace the existing standard shock absorber and we shall therefore have to send you special instructions of how these parts can be fitted. Considering this difficulty we have been wondering whether there is any trials car which is prone to suffer from shock absorber knocks in which case we could have it up here and fit them ourselves after which you could keep them under observation. With regard to Porter, it is quite certain that the shock absorbers which we sent down to you for his car are better than the ones of which he has complained and therefore it would certainly be useful to fit them even though they do not represent the last word in improvement.
