Test of Production Coils
Nos 16 and 18

These coils were received from the test department 5.10.22 as faulty.

When tested they were found to be very weak, the max. regular sparking gap obtainable being 3.5mm.

It was decided that N°18 should be carefully stripped for any information that might be obtained, but it was considered advisable to first have the coil impregnated with wax, as it was a good opportunity to see what the wax could do towards restoring a decidedly weakened coil to its original condition. Eventually, both coils were waxed.

On again being tested, it was found that both had sufficiently recovered to give a performance equal to the
