----------------------------

With reference to Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Evl/M.26.6.30., we give below
our reply to the various points which affect this Dept. :-

(10) We are asking the Works to try and produce louvred
bonnets from a harder material. They are, however, unable
to make louvred bonnets from the hard material which we use
for plain bonnets, as it is very difficult indeed to
prevent hard material cracking at each end of the louvres,
as the operation of forming the double type of louvre is
a very severe one.
