EXTRACT FROM :- x6058. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} } FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} } C. to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} CAR DESIGN WORK R.2/M.10.11.31. X6058. IGNITION COIL. The samples of the 4 different makes so so much a like as to suggest an exact copy, and there seems little reason for our making one in small numbers unless we are going to make more cars per week but this will have to be the case anyway. "Peregrine" must be at a price that we can sell 20 per week at least so we ought to estimate that we shall want 5 or 6 coils per day, which might keep a few hands hard working on this very simple work, from a design point of view. Naturally there are production requirements such as right materials, and craftsmanship. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
