(2) In regard to the half time gears we are hoping that with a special oil jet upon the crankshaft pinion (and possibly with fan added) the half time unit drive will permit slack to exist between the half time gears. In "Seagull" we are embodying all the features we know at present, so we hope they will be at once satisfactory. (3) MAGNETO. X3551 We have decided that the magneto cannot be tilted over profitably, that the magneto coupling shall have a blind serration so as to make it fairly easily to replace correctly. We shall also introduce a spring attachment of the control rod. We have concluded that the adjustment of the tappets can only be made satisfactorily accessible by the complete removal of the magneto. I am particularly anxious for HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} to give his prompt attention to improving the life and reliability of the exhaust valve. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
