14th May, 1934. Notes on the Ulster Grand Prix: (1) Approximate engine Horse Power available - 130. 7.4 compression ratio. 1.5 diameter inlet valves. Aerolite pistons. Standard camshaft. (2) Petrol system will require attention to avoid vapour lock. (3) Test should be carried out to ascertain how much oil temperature can be lowered by keeping the radiator shutters fully open and deleting the undershields. (4) The qualifying speed for the car is 13.66 miles in 11.29 minutes, or an average speed of 72.6 M.P.H. (5) Alteration to the brake leverage will be required to prevent the front brake levers coming on their stops. (6) Front springs should be modified to improve the axle control.
