1093 EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. 10th January, 1941. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CPS.3/EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} The Zenith Carburetter Co., Ltd., Honeypot Lane, STANMORE, Middlesex. Dear Sirs, Further to our telephone conversation this morning with Mr. Fisher, it was agreed that we should send you an AAV.25 carburetter as a model representing our requirements. We have had a number of these instruments from you from time to time, and they are mostly in different stages of modification. It is possible, however, to compile a specification, as follows:- As fitted to 1936 Cadillac, of which complete specification appears on their Form 10C.514, with the following alterations to suit our requirements: 1. 1 1/32" choke instead of 1 1/2. 2. No.60 secondary air bleeds instead of No.36 (in the throttle body). 3. Plain throttle butterflies (holes deleted). 4. Idle tubes to have No.70 petrol jets and No.54 air holes in the top. These replace idle tubes having NO.66 petrol jets and no air holes in the top. 5. .050 ringed type main metering jets to replace .050 plain type jets. 6. Connection in throttle body for vacuum ignition advance. 7. .140 needle seating in float chamber. From the above, you should be able to put a carburetter together Some time ago, we enquired from you whether it would be possible to incorporate such a specification as the above with a 30 mm. throttle. You confirmed that it was in | ||
