RE LUCAS DYNAMO - B.60 ENGINE.

We would like to tell you the history of the Lucas Dynamo on the B.60 engine.

A standard machine was supplied to us by Lucas, and our only criticism was that its end plates were designed for the belt adjustment with an off-side mounting. Nevertheless we produced a scheme for mounting it on the near-side of our engine without modification. This was PD.123 dated Feb.25th/38.

Because some of the adjustment links were consequently not ideal, the electrical section were allowed to design and make a completely new R.R. machine for this engine, which has been fitted to the cars.

The scheme for the Lucas machine PD.123 was for the twin-belt engine.

We propose to make a similar scheme for the single belt engine and to issue it for fitting to Ripplet chassis 2.R.2.
