Rear Jacks.

These are the 2 stage type.
Overall closed length of jack 10.375"
1st stage extension 6.375" }
2nd stage extension 5.500" }
Full extension of jack being 11.875"
Diameter of jack 2.500"

The jacks are clamped to the rear axle with (RR-50) brackets which arelocated by the key originally intended for the D.W.S. mechanical jack bracket.

Tyre ground clearance fully jacked - 2.00".

Pump.

This is of their standard design but has a larger stroke, a figure for which Smith's will let us have.

Fitted to the N/S of the frame as on 32-EX, the pump is operated by a 2 ft. handle which will have to be shortened to clear fittings on the instrument board, we are letting them know the clearance limit they can work to.

At present the pump is made in Bronze, but would be made in RR-50 or some such material in the event of the system being adopted.

The system works at a pressure of 2,240 lbs/sq.in.

Reservoir.

The tank which Smith's have made is unsuitable in dimensions, and I am arranging to send them one of ours.

Pipe Lines & Joints.

At present the pipe lines are .250" steel, they have given up the idea of flared pipe joints and are using Olives. They have also incorporated their silent bloc junction boxes in place of Lockheed flexes.
