xrb2 11 Exptl. Dept. Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/KW. 13th July, 1935. Messrs. Offord & Sons Ltd., 94, Gloucester Road, South Kensington, LONDON, S.W.7. Dear Sirs, Replying to your letter of the 8th July, herewith is a sketch of the rear wings at present on Mr. Hall's car, showing the position of the wing stays. The minimum clearance required between the wing and the wheel in the unloaded position of the car is 4.6". This means that with the 6 1/2" tyre on the 19" rim, the radius of the wing taken from the hub centre will have to be 21" as an absolute minimum. We hope that the car will be available for you to fit the new rear wings early in August, but are not yet certain on this point. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
