Referring to your memo, asking whether it would have any serious effect if Documents existing in the Experimental Dept. were destroyed by fire.

We have, in the Expl: Dept: all the files containing experimental reports. These are valuable but as copies of these reports are sent out to the principal Officials of the Company, there should be copies available if those in the Expl: Dept: happened to be destroyed by fire. At one time we attempted to place these files in the Strong Room at night, but it was found to be inconvenient.

It might be practicable to keep in the Strong Room a percentage of Experimental Files of jobs which have been completed.
