OIL ADJUSTED TAPPETS FOR THE VULTURE. Our experience on J.3. has shewn us that we definitely require a filter for the oil supply to the tappet mechanism on this car. At the present moment we are using the standard Zenith petrol filter which has proved quite satisfactory. We are inclined to think, however, that we could get away with a hundred mesh gauze filter similar to that used on the oil relay, if we had some sort of settling chamber. We found that on the oil relay dirt was carried up when the oil was cold unless some settling capacity was provided. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
