B.80 Marine Oil Fittings.

Herewith PL.184 showing the relief valves, the new position of the General bye-pass filter and the low pressure system and oil flow.

It will be noticed that we call for some new bosses to be cast in the vicinity of the oil gallery. We just can't do otherwise.

Except for this the crankcase is not altered as a casting.

The supply from the pump instead of going direct to the gallery now passes outside the crankcase through the oil cooler and back to the gallery and relief valve where the pressure is measured off in the ordinary way.

There is a new relief valve to be made but fortunately the facing for it is exactly as formerly and in the old position.

Herewith PL.189 Sump Pump.

This pump is made by Benton & Stone and is provided so that the operators can drain the sump, it being understood of course that the original drain plug at the bottom of the sump is quite unacceptable in a vessel.

We have shown the pump mounted at the aft end of the cylinder head, in this position it can be conveniently operated and sufficiently high to easily get a can underneath it.

Enclosed 4 copies of memo.
2 prints of PL.184 and PL.189.
