[Handwritten]: STEADMAN R...[initials] Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited, DERBY. For the Attention of Mr. Steadman. Dear Sirs, Replying to your letter of the 29th June, reference Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.21/JH, we regret that we did not inform you of our proposals regarding high temperature solder. Following correspondence with your Buying Department, we wrote on the 18th June, and a copy of our letter is enclosed. We have been conducting experiments using various high temperature solders and we have selected one which has given very satisfactory results on test here. We agree that it would be advisable for you to satisfy yourselves that the cooler which was included in our consignment, and to which you refer in your letter, should be further tested by you. We have made arrangements to proceed with the manufacture of coolers using this solder, and we do not think that there can be any disadvantage in doing so. We shall be glad, however, if you will confirm that you agree to this course. Yours faithfully, [Signature]: Howard Pinthall | ||
