S/W (Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}) c. to St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} x20 H7/H6.11.33. Peter Erman, Esq., 164-MS. --------------------------------- With reference to H6/H1.11.33 and your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/MJ 3.11.33 will you kindly note that the tires on this car are Dunlop Fort Silent. Since writing our memo, St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} advises us, (and I think he sent you a copy) that Mr. Uttley overcame the trouble to his satisfaction by fitting Goodyear tires in place of Dunlops. His theory was that it was not so much the pattern as the softness of the rubber that influenced the noise - the Goodyear treads apparently being softer than Dunlops. H.{Arthur M.
