J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} BARTLETT DUNSTABLE BEDFORDSHIRE THE SOCIETY OF MOTOR MANUFACTURERS & TRADERS LTD OUR REF. NFS/GEB. YOUR REF. 9th April, 1936. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited, Derby. For the Attention of Mr. H.E. West. Dear Mr. West, I am now sending to you under separate cover today by registered post some sample plugs with sinterkorund insulators as follows: I. Two 14 mm. detachable type plugs marked S404 (heat characteristics Code No.4). II. Two 14 mm. detachable type plugs marked S403 (heat characteristics Code No.3). Now, I don't want to presume to suggest to you the tests to which you should put these plugs, but I do want you to realise that they are virtually "a shot in the dark". From our knowledge of the heat characteristics of sinterkorund, I shall expect all of them to stand a considerable amount of heat. I take it that you will proceed fairly quickly to test these plugs on your single cylinder units, and if you can keep an accurate record of their performance, I am sure that the test report will be an extremely useful guide in our arriving at a satisfactory plug design for the various jobs. When you have the tests fairly well under way, with several hours performance on each of the plug types, I think it would be useful if I ran up to Derby to go over the job with you in detail. If you will give me some idea when this will be, I shall be grateful. MAKERS OF AC SPARKING PLUGS - AC AIR CLEANERS - AC PETROL PUMPS - AC PETROL GAUGES - AC OIL FILTERS - AC OIL GAUGES | ||
