Car. 704 4th November, 1941. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 1/h.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Dear Nichols, Thank you for your letter of the 30th October. I saw Lucas on Sunday and mentioned to him that we were receiving splendid co-operation from Messrs. Smith. but I will go further with the matter now, and get him interested in the projected ignition switch. With regard to the ash-tray, I cannot say frankly that I am enthusiastic. I have always been unfortunate with ash-trays on the scuttle-board, as a draught invariably seems to be located there and the ash gets blown off the cigarette on its way to the tray. If we could find a place lower down and more accessible, I think it would be more satisfactory. I really think that a large ash-tray on the lines of the tool-tray might be the most satisfactory solution, but I am sure Walton will be full of bright ideas. Yours sincerely, C. W. Nichols, Esq., Messrs. S. Smith & Sons (M.A.) Ltd., Cricklewood Works, LONDON. N.W.2. | ||
