X4383 To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from EFC. c. Ds. EFC3/T15.10.23. X.4383 - GOSHAWK DYNAMOS. We are now again handing you dynamo No.562 upon which you recently carried out the instructions contained in By/Dsl/ML15.8.23 with regard to easing off the trailing edges of the poles. We have tested this machine since then and found the output considerably modified and it has been necessary to advance the control brush by filing up the slot beyond the previous limit. Would you now kindly have this dynamo again fitted to 3GII in place of the B dynamo at present thereon, which should be returned to us. We shall then be able to see whether this modification has reduced the dynamo noise. In the meanwhile, we consider that this modification has made too much disturbance in the output of the machine, so that from a noise reducing point of view you must look upon the modification as exaggerated. wc EFC. | ||
