-2- EFC3/T17.7.23. while on the high speed, then stopping again, the whole cycle being performed about three times per minute. Commutation and general performance was about the same on either polarity and the brush surfaces were in good condition at the end of each day. It appears that this test is less severe than continuous running on a good load. At the present moment the rig is running, and will be for some time now with brushes of different materials. It is arranged to be running with intermittent operation, as above described, through the day, and continuous running at the three speeds 1750, 2500 and 3500 R.P.M. successively over night(one speed each night in turn). It is also intended to get in an experiment of increased brush spring pressure with the standard brushes. EFC. | ||
