re CHASSIS RADIATOR MATRIX. ex. MARSTONS.

At the request of Mr.Dunn of Messrs.Marstons Mr.Bowers and myself visited the above firm on Tuesday the 15th instant, to investigate and check progress etc. of improvement in the production of the various types of matrix supplied to us.

The position regarding the production being up to our requirements regarding dimensions, waterway sizes, and flow capacity is now on a sound basis, and Mr.Dunn has assured us that no pains will be spared to meet our demands.

I have insisted that an Inspectors report shall accompany each consignment of matrix giving the flow test figures, and no matrix shall be passed to us unless conforming to our standard.

The agreed figures are as under :-

25/30 HP. Matrix E.60931.

2" Entry Pipe 7" head of water. Min. flow - 50 galls: per min.
Dimensions of gauge for water space - .030" x .625".
Gauge to pass freely in spaces.

P.111. E.88298 Mark Vl. {V. Lewis / Mr Valentine} Matrix.

2.500 Entry Pipe, 7" head. Min. flow - 75 galls: per min.
Dimensions of gauge - .053" x 1.000".
Gauge to pass freely in spaces.
Dimensional limits to be +-.015" on height and width.
The angles at bottom to be a snug fit.

The flow figures for Bentley Matrix is not yet settled but will be fixed in the course of a few days.

It should be understood by Messrs. Marstons that I shall only inspect a small percentage of the matrices upon receipt at these works, therefore the onus is on the suppliers to keep to the agreed standard.

Goodall
