-2- RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}6/AP.8.3.38 In addition to Wraith and B.III. we shall use Spicer shafts on P.3 from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} series onwards, saving some £5. per chassis. The object of this memo although referring to one bought-out assembly in particular is to show that there are inevitably cases whereby buying from the specialist we shall obtain a better article at less cost. Engines and suchlike we must make ourselves, and we spend much time and thought on them. Parts like propeller shafts about which we do very little thinking and no testing will always be better made by the specialist. RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
