Dear Fedden, We have been gradually collecting a little more information on bearings, and I should like to discuss the matter with you in the immediate future; at the same time I have got a certain amount of information on valve springs which may interest you. We have been doing a lot of work lately on oil consumption, and getting the most conflicting results. We have been trying very hard to confirm what the Ring Manufacturers tell us. So far we have only succeeded in proving that our engine must be different to everybody else's, because we cannot corroborate any of the theories of the Ring Manufacturers, nor can we check up what Taub of Chevrolet's said should happen. The most convenient day for me to come to Bristol is Wednesday, November 18th. I shall be glad to know if this will suit you. I was very relieved to hear that your car had given satisfaction on your Continental tour - I want to discuss the conditions you encountered, and I think it is time we made a car suitable for the new German motor road. Yours sincerely, | ||
