Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 666 noted file F.{Mr Friese} Dobbs ATTENTION OF MR. C. WARD. EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}4. November 4th 1939. Messrs Park Ward & Co. Ltd, 473 High Road, Willesden. LONDON. N.W.10. Dear Sirs, RE SILVER WRAITH 60. - 31.G.7. ref.CWW/MH.{M. Huckerby} We thank you for your letter of the 1st inst. Our works have been asked to supply you with the accessories which you require and we will let you know when they are being sent. If you have any suitable accessories belonging to any Trials or Show cars which may be partially completed we suggest that we might obtain permission to draw from these. It has been decided to use this body on a Silver Wraith. The bonnet, front wings and apron will therefore be like those of 30.G.7. and 33.G.7. for which you have already received all the necessary prints. We would be glad if you would go ahead and complete this body on these lines and detail instructions of a revised list of applicable prints will follow in due course. The body will be mounted on a left hand drive chassis and this will call for some small modifications (1) The spare wheel will be on the R.H.side (2) The column will be on the L.H. side. (3) The petrol filler will be on the R.H.side and will be mounted under the wing. (4) The side change speed lever and the brake lever will be on the L.H. side. We shall send you a print of these to enable you to shape the front cushion. (5) A special design of instrument board will be set out and sent to you. The battery and exhaust system will stay in their present positions. It should not be overlooked that the special bull-nosed wings of the type fitted to 33.G.7. will be required to mask the very forward possition of the radiator. Yours faithfully, Chassis Design Office. | ||
