Oy2-H-21425 August 14, 1925. Mr. Claude Johnson, Rolls-Royce, Limited, London, England. (Copy for attention of Mr. Royce ) Mr. Platford) Mr. Hives ) Dear Sir: Re Radiator Support Several owners have taken up with us the question of chassis hammering between the radiator and bonnet. This is caused by nodding of the top of the radiator which is held only by the bent steel strip attaching it to the top of the cylinder block. The rattle occurs only where rough "corduroy" roads are encountered. One of our owners in Chicago has connected the top of the radiator to the cylinder block by an aeroplane-type turnbuckle, while another owner has used an adjustable tie rod from radiator to dashboard. We wish to suggest to Mr. Royce that the latter arrangement would be an improvement on the present method of construction. Oj. | ||
