Mr. W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham #2 MAY 28, 1927 In regards to your question on the Dodge engine, I have conferred with the resident engineer of the Dodge Co. in New York, a Mr. Paul, and he advises their oil consumption increases at around 40,000 miles. In fact, from 40,000 to 50,000 is the period at which they find it necessary to fit new rings. They have no connecting rod bearing wear, except in such cars that are run where there is considerable dust as in the western states. In these states the wear occurs at an earlier mileage largely due to dust entering the engine. He advised me they fit heavy duty air cleaners to cars sold in the western states. Trusting this will give you the information you desire, we are Very truly yours, J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} S. INSKIP, INC. H.Adkins/LA{L. A. Archer} P.S. After several telegraphic requests and no reply, I to-day called Mr. Zeidler on the 'phone in regards to the clutch. He still would not give me any information but said he had turned the matter over to their Sales Division and they were writing me to-day in regards to the quotation of one-hundred sets. The one which we sent them from Bill's car he said would be shipped out to-day. He also said there had been some question about twenty odd sets of Thermoid linings. I do not know whether this was a request from you, but he said to advise the Thermoid people had shipped direct to you twenty-two sets on March 27th. HA | ||
