Miss England II in America

TO: Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} D4/DL9.11.31.

(1) You will remember that Mr.Platford's son (Eric Royce Platford) was thrown out of the boat in consequence of which he was disabled.

(2) This event took place on September 7th and he returned to business on October 15th 1931. As, however, Platford junior received payment of his wages up to the time of his return to England he does not desire to make any claim for loss sustained by him until his return to England.

(3) The date that he returned to England was September 23rd and he resumed work on October 15th which is 22 days (or, say three weeks). During this three weeks he was prevented, owing to his accident, from resuming his work. Consequently we may come to the conclusion that he was totally disabled.

(4) According to Lord Wakefield's undertaking young Platford was entitled to receive three weeks disablement pay at £5 per week, amounting to £15. He does not wish to make any profit on the transaction but asks for only out of pocket expenses, which are :-

Bus. fares, transport, etc. 7. 6.

(4) Would you kindly write to Lord Wakefield asking for payment of the sum of £12. 1. 0; or would you prefer that Mr.Platford pere should write and claim this from Lord Wakefield direct.
