The advent of the AUTOPULSE makes possible a more desirable, more reliable and a safer system of supplying fuel to the carburetor of Automobile, Speed Boat and Aeroplane Engines. This system is particularly applicable in REPLACING or SUPPLEMENTING the vacuum, gravity and air pressure feed systems now in use on vehicles.

The AUTOPULSE is a small, durable and very efficient pump, magnetically powered by battery current and controlled by the ignition switch. Its delivery stroke is spring-driven, the spring being energized during the magnetic suction stroke. The gasoline delivery is controlled by the carburetor float valve. When the carburetor becomes full and the float valve closes, hydraulic pressure is built up within the pumping element, and this pressure will cause the pump action to stop with battery current cut off internally. Consumption of gasoline by the carburetor will reduce this pressure; a slight reduction will cause the battery circuit to close (internally) and a full suction stroke will be taken. This action will be repeated at greater and greater speed as the demand increases up to full capacity. The AUTOPULSE functions to maintain a fuel supply of constant pressure at the carburetor float valve. There is no waste pumping. A single unit will deliver or has an emergency capacity of about 12 gallons per hour, unrestricted. The rated capacity is 8 gallons per hour. (See capacity). It is stocked in three voltage ranges viz: for 3-cell, 6-cell, and 16-cell batteries, (6V, 12V and 32V.) as specified.

FEATURES

The features of the AUTOPULSE are distinctive and numerous—the most important are listed below.

1. Maintains a satisfactory supply of gasoline at the vehicle carburetor under any condition of GRADE, ALTITUDE, VIBRATION or TEMPERATURE.
2. Attains full gasoline pressure at the carburetor BEFORE THE ENGINE IS CRANKED.
3. SELF-PRIMING. Has an emergency air pumping rate much greater than when pumping gasoline.
4. No storage of gasoline in proximity to the engine; subjected to extreme changes in temperature and a source of danger from serious fire in case of accident.
5. Ignition switch controls the flow of gasoline from the storage tank. Both can be instantly cut off by operator in case of accident or fire.
6. IT IS THE ONLY FUEL FEED DEVICE WHICH WILL AUTOMATICALLY EXPOSE A FAULTY FEED LINE. An audible warning is given in the case of an air leak and the excessive fluctuations of the ammeter needle indicates a clogged condition of the suction pipe.
7. A loose connection or the wearing through of the fuel supply pipe allows the entrance of air and does not result in a dangerous fuel leakage.
8. THE AUTOPULSE CAN NEVER FLOOD THE ENGINE, CRANK CASE OR CYLINDERS WITH GASOLINE, or the LUBRICATING OIL WITH AIR. Nothing enters the engine due to this fuel supply system except fuel and that only through the proper place—the carburetor.
9. The AUTOPULSE installation does not require changes in, or redesign of, the engine; but, as the AUTOPULSE does not depend for its operation upon any function of the engine, the ENGINE MAY BE DESIGNED FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY WHEN THE AUTOPULSE IS USED.
10. Saves gasoline and greatly REDUCES CRANK CASE DILUTION in MOUNTAIN DRIVING while using the engine as a brake. Gasoline supply is cut off by ignition switch.
11. Cheaply and easily installed upon any type or
