EFC. PB.85. March 14th. 1923. X.430. X.3199 CHEMICAL LEAK. The conductance of this leak in its new form is much too high, being about 257.0 micromhos at a temperature of 18.0OC. It has, however, been tried immersed in water, and hasbeen confirmed that the temperature of the solution steadily rises and falls with that of the water. Providing the leak was kept immersed, it would be possible therefore to ascertain its temperature at any moment and also within limits to practically control it. The latter is of importance as it still appears that the variation in conductance per degree C., of temperature will be high - about .3 micromhos on an average. This, however, with the temperature limits, can be more accurately obtained after the conductance has been reduced to somewhere near the value desired, which in the first instance it is thought should be 4.0 micromhos at 20oC. At other temperature it should be according to the following table :- 16oC 3.1 micromhos. 17 3.3 " 18 3.5 " 19 3.7 " 20 4.0 " 21 4.3 " 22 4.7 " MADE AT CROXLEY CAP. | ||
