Derby, England. Attention: Mr. S. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Gylls Gentlemen: Am attaching our regular quotation form giving you prices covering three sets of your crankshaft bearings, and we are figuring prices lined either with our B-10025 metal or our L-100 metal. The B-10025 is a tin base metal running approximately 89% tin, 3.7% copper and 7.3% antimony and with lead held down under 1/4 of 1%. The L-100 runs approximately 85% lead, 9% antimony and 6% tin. The L-100 has been used very extensively by us for several years as a lining for camshaft bearings and recently has been out through some tests as a lining material for main and connecting rod bearings with very good success. This is the material you spoke to me about which conforms to an analysis being tried out at this time by some of the General Motors units. It would be necessary to make up a few little special tools to produce these bearings to your prints and we are showing that charge separate from the piece prices, and naturally, would like to receive instructions from you to go ahead on these parts. With kindest personal regards, I am. Cordially, FEDERAL-MOGUL CORPORATION [Signature of David W. Rodger] Vice-Pres. & Dir. of Sales DWR:BI 1- enclosure | ||
