For the attention of Mr. Fraser. Dear Sirs, We have received your letter of the 14th inst. and print GB.3328. As requested we phoned aur remarks concerning this print which we now confirm. The overall dimensions of the expander housing should remain 3.000" but we would like the two bosses for the 1/4" bolts moved in to 1.437" centres, to enable us to use a longer plain washer under the Thackray spring washer. Will you please supply the six sample housings with the two new bosses drilled to receive the 1/4" dia. tap, but not threaded. This is because we use a special tap for aluminium, slightly small. We will have to supply this to you when production starts. We return your print GB.3328 with the dimensions altered : may we have a replacement print? Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
