Coverley - Production Engineer} Work. (1) Steering Experiments on 21-G-IV. Memo. sent to RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} 6.9.35. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}'s Dept. is now deciding what parts to make for this experiment, i.e., 13 days after instructions were sent from this Dept. (2) Between 4 and 5 weeks ago HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} was asked verbally to try the effect of moving the roller sideways on SpectreCodename for Phantom III steering in an attempt to eliminate the tendency to a tight spot on one lock when 0.002" crowning is used. The rockershaft for this experiment was machined within 1 week, but since then nothing has been done. This experiment does not involve a new steering gear, as it can be carried out in the skeleton box. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/F.J.Hardy. | ||
