Minute No. -5- Hyl/R.30.11.33.

General.

12. Item 9. SpectreCodename for Phantom III.

Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} said that he had been enquiring into the progress of the SpectreCodename for Phantom III and had come to some provisional dates which it is believed can be worked to.

It is estimated that the engine designs will be completed by the middle of January and that the chassis designs will be completed by the end of February.

Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} said that if this is done he expects to have a chassis running sometime in August.

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} enquired what the R.A.C. rating of the SpectreCodename for Phantom III would be and H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} said that it would work out at 48 H.P.

13. Item 10. 'Vulture'. E.1/DD.21.11.33. Sell/17.11.33. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/IR.24.11.33.

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} enquired regarding the progress of the Vulture chassis.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said that the work was going ahead well.

It was also stated that the R.A.C. Rating of the Vulture would be 49 H.P.

14. Item 11. Experimental Work on Car Engine Supercharger. Hes/MJ.7.10.33.

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} read memo Hes/MJ.7.10.33. in which it is suggested that a Peregrine chassis can be used to obtain certain technical information regarding superchargers particularly with regard to the silencing of them air intake.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} expressed the opinion that eventually we should be compelled to take up supercharging for our chassis particularly on the Bentley and any knowledge which could be obtained on the subject is sure to be of great value at a later date even if it is not of very much real use at the moment.

It was agreed that the experimental work can be proceeded with on supercharging in order to provide the data which E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} requires but that the work should be done on a Bentley chassis and not on a Peregrine.
