Vokes Experimental Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/KT. Sept 29th 1933. C.G. Vokes Ltd., Vokesacess House, 95-97 Lower Richmond Road, Putney. London. S.W.15. For the attention of Mr. C.C. Vokes. Dear Sirs, Further to your letter of the 15th Sept., we have now looked into the question of the waves in the Gauze, and find that the original gauze that we fitted was roughly crinkled in order to make it "stay put". The model was handed over to our Design Dept. for examination, and they created the waves. As you pointed out, the waves are quite useless in materially improving the efficiency of the gauze as an air cleaner, and we are actually anxious to fit your deep corrugation gauze and cotton, if it will satisfy our air flow requirements. We await with interest the return of the air silencer which we sent you. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
