Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}

TB/JWW. 22/AH. 19.6.41.

This is to confirm my telephone conversation with you to the effect that I have not yet received an order from Messrs. British Filters for the work we have done for them as follows:-

1 - Pattern and castings for filter head.

1 - Die and castings for filter ring.

I have the samples of the ring in the Office, but unfortunately cannot get them released without an order number due to our Stores Organisation. Sample of the filter head which was so urgent, I took over myself, a fortnight ago. As yet we have received no report.

As I mentioned to you I have now found the die which produces the large cooling filter of which British Filters have a sample. The material in this case is an alloy with 6 1/2% Silicon, and 2 1/2% Copper content.

We can produce satisfactorily the small blood filter frames as suggested by Mr. Worth.

You will also be pleased to know that we have forwarded to HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} the first rough sample casting of one of the Diffuser Vane Rings for Rover. The second one will be ready late this week.

TB/JWW.
