X4276 To EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} from R. {Sir Henry Royce} R12/M20.9.23. SPRINGFIELD ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT. X.3966. X.4275. X.4276. I am very dissatisfied with the equipment for the U.S.A. Springfield chassis. It is like the supplies of the big stores. Do you consider - (1) 6 volts desirable ? (2) The dynamo and vibrator reliable and satisfactory and sufficient ? (I think you said the vibrator did not allow of high engine) speed). (3) Do you and the mechanics and HY. {Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} consider the switch likely to give more than the 5 years of service expected of it ? The above is Westinghouse equipment. In addition do you consider - (a) The American Bosch battery ignition really reliable including the condenser connections ? (b) Would it not be better for the U.S.A. factory to go to Delco since they cannot get anything better than the above equipment ? R. {Sir Henry Royce} | ||
