X8520 X235 SHOCK DAMPER SPRINGS. With reference to our recent request for altered low pressure loadings of the dampers due to increasing the size of the air leak. We find that all the low pressure loadings on the shock dampers both front and rear can be obtained with one spring of varying free lengths without over-stressing the spring. If this one spring could be used it would eliminate the discrepancies which are constantly occuring through springs of different ratings being employed, and would make alterations to the loading much simpler. We give a tabulated list of the shock damper loadings which we require and the springs which we consider will give the specified loadings. 40/50 HP. FRONT. UP. F.75168 - free length .500. 65-70 lbs. DOWN. As at present. REAR. UP. F.75168 - free length .550. 78-83 lbs. DOWN. As at present. 20 HP. FRONT. UP. F.75079 45 lbs. ± 3 DOWN. As at present. REAR. UP. F.75168 - free length .495. 40 lbs. ± 3 DOWN. F.74869. 55 - 60 lbs. ------------------- There are a number of F.75168 springs in the contd :- | ||
