| Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} 300a Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gryl/R.6.8.37. 32-EX - REAR AXLE. Referring to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}2/E29.7.37., we do not yet know the reason for this axle failure. The gears and the oil are on their way to us from Paris, and we will have the oil analysed and tested when it arrives. When the axle was dismantled in Paris nothing could be found mechanically wrong with it, other than the fact that the gear surfaces had picked up.
