With further reference to your letter of the 2nd of June, reference as above, we are today sending you two sample petrol filters. In both of these the filtering area has been increased. One of them also has a modified type of stirrup which weighs a few ounces less. We have not been successful in getting the tops made in Duralamin and it is certainly not a very nice job in aluminium. Consequently it is rather difficult to cut down the weight of this filter without employing an unsatisfactory metal and losing some of its robustness. We hope however, you will approve of one or the other of the two samples we have sent you today and can promise you that we shall still pursue our investigations to see whether we can lighten the filter without destroying | ||
