Dear Mr Elliott,

I am sorry I have not written you before with reference to my visit to Switzerland but upon my return the Show jobs necessitated a lot of attention.

In the first place, I wish to thank you for arranging the visit to Zurich for me, as I can assure you it was most edifying.

I thought I would have rather 'downed' the idea of aluminium alloys, but I must say that each question was answered in a very satisfactory and practical manner.

In Dr. Koenig's office they had some sections of pillars made up of these aluminium alloys and they were really excellent.

Dr Schulthess then took us to a small coachbuilder of the name of Hess where we saw commercial vehicles in the course of construction. This was even more convincing than the sections seen in Dr. Koenig's office. Again a number of practical questions were asked and answered very satisfactorily.

The final arrangements made were that I should leave with Dr. Koenig a copy of the tracings
