| ~206~ E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} BRAKES FOR EXP: BENSPORT. We return herewith your print LeC.3280. The servo is 20/25 unaltered as is also the cross shaft from the pedal. The rear brake differentail has two new levers 3.000 for the direct braking and 2.750 for the servo braking. The rear intermediate shaft has both the rods and ropes connected at 3.400 radius (on Peregrine the rods are at 2.500). The front equaliser has the input lever increased to 2.100 and the levers to the ropes reduced to 1.230 (These exist Ex.9785). Both axles are unaltered Peregrine. The braking will then be :- Direct 10/4 x 1.187/1.350 x 1.850/1.850 x 3.000/3.150 x 3.4/3.4 x 4.8/.325 x 12 = 374 Servo to Rear S x 10/4 x 1.187/1.350 x 1.850/1.750 x 4.875/8.000 x 2.750/3.150 x 3.4/3.4 x 4.8/.325 x 12 = 220 S Servo to front S x 10/4 x 1.187/1.350 x 1.855/1.750 x 4.875/8.000 x 2.1/1.230 x 8/1.625 x 3.5/1.625 x 12 = 385 S We have assumed that the link from the pedal to the cross shaft will be at 4.000 radius.
