X8370. To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}1/KT.20.10.31. RE. 25 HP. SERVO. We have again run into trouble through the overoiling of the servo fabrics by the deletion of the oil catcher and drain holes on the servo plate G.54242, G.54487. This should be brought up to the scheme used on the Phantom, i.e. an oil catcher and drain holes. The scheme turned down was Mr. Day's for oiling the three driving pins of the servo which was found not to be practicable. The present production should have a felt washer or leather washer fitted held by the servo spring G.52187 to prevent the oil escaping into the inside of the servo.
