X4079b SFT.{Mr Swift} for Mr. Brock from EFC. c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} EFC2/LG7. 2. 24. X.4079b - TALL TYPE COILS IN REDMANOL CASES. Answering your written note. A thrashing test of the taller redmanol coil TR.{Capt. F. W. Turner - Finance}1. has been made on a car and the report is that the result has been equally as good as the results obtained on the original stabalite [handwritten correction: ebonite] coil (i.e. not the present ebonite taller type coil). We are now arranging for a similar test to be made on the other two redmanol case coils which you have only recently let us have. Subsequent running and bend tests on these three coils will be continued indefinitely. No possibility of standardisation of these coils should be entertained for a very considerable period - BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} having definitely asserted that he could not agree to signing a standardisation sheet and this is with good reason because we know definitely of the possibility of this material letting us down and extreme caution would have to be exercised and certainty arrived at before a standardisation sheet could be entertained.
