Phantom III We send herewith N.Sch.4753 which shews the level plug raised the amount necessary to increase the oil capacity from 1 1/2 to 2 pints in accordance with E.6/HP. 29.1.36. Our calculation gives .3" as the necessary increase in plug height. We cannot calculate the exact height but the factors we have ignored will raise rather than lower the height required. We suggest that for casings already machined the facing be end milled to a different angle and a plug boss provided with an elongated flange. The thickness of the casing is reduced locally but is still ample. Undrilled casings have the existing boss raised .300" with a re-spacing of the rivet holes for the tube spigot ring.
