X.682. AFTER THE WAR CHASSIS. 256

It was decided on August 14/8/16 at a meeting of R, Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}, Ne, E, Cy, RH{R. Hollingworth}, that the following parts should be incorporated in the after the war chassis.

See Sheet. M4/W18816.

1. Owing to the stock of material the next 200 or 500 cars after the war should be like 7.CA.
2. 4/12 Gear Box.
3. Thinner and Lighter radiator. Radiators should not be made up but a stock of tubes should be obtained.
4. Aluminium Pistons.
5. Machined connecting rods.
6. Lighter Damper Flywheel (probable)
7. No balance weights.
8. Leave out middle bearing in torque tube and aluminium sleeve.
9. Axle tubes having a straight taper bore and external collars instead of stepped sections.
10. Aluminium Brake Straps.
11. Rear springs shall remain above the axle but to be the light thick type, the lower plate split at the rear end, fitted with 3 flange rollers and two security bolts.
12. Dunlop Wheels, spokes should be made of high alloy steel carefully heat treated.
13. Smaller coil Carpentier trembler.
